Paris's Spring Party

Spring is coming and Paris's 1st grade class isn't going to miss it! To celebrate spring Mrs. Bartchi planned a party for the class to earn. They only earned it in the nick of time. I was lucky enough to have a comp day so I could volunteer to help out with the party. It was very fun to watch Paris play and interact with her friends and class mates. Paris was having so much fun she hardly noticed that I was there! If I didn't bother her so much to snap a few photo ops, she may not have noticed at all. I like to see her having fun in school.
Paris has really been enjoying school lately. All of her homework is coming back with 100% on them. Some of the work they do in first grade is really hard these days. The math, the spelling, everything... I don't remember having to learn such hard stuff in first grade! We are very proud of her for rising to the occasion, and adapting to the school environment, it hasn't been easy. Paris doesn't like to think inside the box, she's a very creative and abstract thinker. Sometimes school is torture for these types of personalities because they need a more artistic approach to learning. It has been hard for Paris to enjoy the learning environment the public school system has to offer. Luckily her teacher has been great at trying new approaches and compromising so that Paris can have more art time. It's interesting that Paris is so good at math, but she really enjoys it once she understands a new "trick".
