Well the time has finally come for me to graduate! Share my day with me. I woke up to a house full of kids because I was lucky enough to have my sister come to my graduation! We spent the morning preparing for my graduation that was to be set for noon. I left my sister with the kids at McDonalds while I went to get my cap and gown. Of course, they were out of caps! I frantically ran from one end of the Dee Event's Center to the other trying to find a cap. Seconds before we began walking down the stairs to make our grand entrance, a lady from WSU came with a few caps size XXL. It balanced on my head as I carefully walked and waited for my brief moment of joy, where my name would be echoed, among the names of my very good friends, confirming my actual completion of my BA. Like the rest of my life, it all fell together in the nick of time.
I walked between my very good friends, Chris Christiansen, Tori Cox, and Jessica Dutston. They are my fellow English teachers now. Today was a moment of joy for all of us. A funny moment came when Rob called Chris asking if today was graduation, as we were walking down the stairs! Rob didn't make it. Lol.
In the crowd I could hear my parents, my husband, and somewhere in the distance of my subconscious, my children, cheering me on. Thank you sooooo much to all of you who helped me achieve my goal. My mother -in- law helped me so much. She even agreed to move in with us for a little more than a year to help me with my children. What a blessing it has been to have her in our home. Our children will always have a special spot in their hearts for their grandma B! My sister -in-law, Mary, was always willing to help, and did, when the need would arise. Especially I want to say thank you to my husband and children who sacrificed so much to help me create time to do homework and attend classes.
After I finally made my way out of the jammedpackedparkinglot. I ate my first dinner as a graduate with my husband, children, my parents, my sister, and my nieces at the Golden Corral, my choice. :) I love buffets, they remind me of Vegas, I love Vegas.
